Sean 'Diddy' Combs Admits Dog Fur Used On Coats In His Sean John Fashion Line

What an outrage. What else can be said. What this really points out though is a couple things:

One, no one can be assured that when buying a product that says fake fur that it really is. In additional, if they know it’s fur they can’t know for sure it isn’t from dogs or cats. China is notorious for abusing and killing dogs and cats for fur.

I wrote a while back on fur and China. Please see that post at:

cruel-china-keeps-up-its-status-as.html

This also points out that most people are opposed to the use of dog and cat fur. How they don’t make the leap to other species if they feel that fur is cruel is baffling to me. Fur is fur no matter the species.

Images which expose the truth behind fur can be found at http://www.atourhands.com/furfarm.html#dog

If you use fur, at least be big enough to view images on the truth behind it. If you don’t, you’re just an ignorant accessory to the abuse.

Hip-Hop Fashion News

Sean 'Diddy' Combs has issued an apology to an animal rights group following a mix-up with fake and real fur on his Sean John winter coats.

The rapper's clothing brand, Sean John, was recently found to have used raccoon dog fur in the hood of its jackets. Very similar to Raccoon fur in color, the Raccoon dog is actually a canine breed that has been brutally used for quite some time by fashion industry manufacturers.

The Humane Society Of The United States were naturally incensed, demanding an explanation from the star.

Combs, founder of the Sean John brand, claims the incident was accidental, and has promised it will not be repeated by the Sean John fashion brand.

"I was unaware of the nature of this material, but as soon as we were alerted, the garments were pulled off the Macy's floor and web site," he said. "I have instructed our licensee to cease the production of any garment using this material immediately."

Some question why Diddy would do this and not halt production with the company that allowed the products' clearances, but no answer to that thought has been found.

While this is a temporary overcast on the brand, Sean John clothing is still prospected by SoJones.com to be the leading brand by an Urban music artist in first quarter 2007.

"There's two styles that seem to be virally spreading in the Urban & Hip-Hop market currently. The people spending higher dollars want to either be Grown and Sexy or Retro-Eccentric," said Rodrick Rainey on Sean John being the first quarter leader.

SoJones on-line is planning to release its first 'Urban & Hip-hop Fashion Forecast' for the year 2007. The site owner hopes to gain the attention of the major brands that are losing popularity in the US and give valuable insights. If successful, the site's CEO will continue with new reports annually.

The latest releases from Sean John's clothing brand can be found on Dr.Jays, EastBay, and Macy's On-Line. Discount and promotional codes for all of these major on-line retailers and more can be found on SoJones.com's on-line stores page.
