Finally Freedom: 40 Lab Beagles Released: Interact and See Sunlight for First Time

I wanted to end today with a good story. We can only hope this will become more common in the future. To torture dogs is cruelty of the highest degree.

I posted in some text below, but to read the full story and to see some video, visit: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/28/lab-raised-beagles-go-out_n_1116446.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000009

“Forty male beagles raised inside a lab in Spain arrived in Los Angeles last week where they will be put up for adoption after being freed from captivity by the Beagle Freedom Project.

The rescue mission is the largest yet for the group Animal Rescue Media Education (ARME). A total of 72 dogs were rescued in the effort, 32 of them having already been adopted in Europe, according to NBC Los Angeles.

ARME's Beagle Freedom Project spokesman Gary Smith said the beagles, all between ages 4 and 7, had lived in cages their entire lives.”

Crosspoint Animal Hospital in Fairfax County Kills Lost Family Dog (Basie the Corgi) Due to Marking it a Stray: Tell Them to Stop this Practice

Basically, the jackasses in Fairfax County kill all “strays” without trying to find out if they are simply lost. This happened to a family. Read on and then follow the link below to tell them to stop:

“Basie the Corgi had only been missing for a few hours when her owners discovered that she had been turned in to the Crosspoint Animal hospital in Fairfax Station. Although she was in good health, with clipped nails and clean fur, by the time her owners found her she'd been euthanized for being a stray.”

“The world’s strongest animals are plant eaters. Gorillas, Buffaloes, Elephants and me.” Strongest Man Speaks Again!

Ah yes, a perfect quote. And, provided by one of the world’s strongest men!

As I said in a previous post, Patrik Baboumian is a breath of fresh air in this movement. He once again proves that meat is not necessary for good health, and actually that a vegetarian or vegan diet is highly effective and superior when gaining size and strength. I am also a weight lifter and I’ve recently gained 50 pounds on a veg. diet.

The quote I used above is found here; http://www.peta.org/b/thepetafiles/archive/2011/11/21/strongest-man-eats-plants-loves-animals.aspx

Memphis Animal Shelter Employees Have Ties to Area Dog Fighting Rings

How convenient for the scummy Michael Vick wannabes. Let’s hope the Memphis Rotary Club’s Animal Shelter Evaluation Committee puts an end to this.
